European Amputee Football Championship Krakow 2020

European Amputee Football Championship Krakow 2020 held from 13th till 20th September in Krakow is one of the most important sport event in Poland and surely the most important international amputee football tournament in the world this year.

Amputee football – a type of football for people with amputations or limb defects – is one of the fastest growing sport disciplines in the world that gets more and more popular in Poland as well as in other European countries. Amputee football teams and associations are supported widely by famous regular football players as well as by national football federations.

Amp Euro 2020 Ambassador is Robert Lewandowski and the tournament is also supported and promoted by UEFA and Polish FA. Ambassadors of Polish national amputee football team are also Kamil Grosicki and Łukasz Fabianski.

The Great Final of previous European Amputee Football Championship 2017 in Turkey was watched live by 41 000 spectators at Besiktas Stadium. Polish national amputee football team won bronze medal at this tournament.

In Amp Euro 2020 sixteen national amputee football teams will compete in four groups.

At Cracovia, Garbarnia i Pradniczanka venues teams will play 48 matches in total.

There is a free entrance to all matches.

All Polish team matches as well as the great final will be broadcoasted live in open air TVP Sport.

All other matches will be broadcoasted live online, also on this website.

An opening game Poland vs Ukraine will be played at Cracovia stadium on 13th September at 6 pm. The game will be preceded by Tournament Opening Ceremony.

Except for opening game Cracovia stadium will also host semi-final matches (Saturday, 19th September) as well as 3rd place match and the Great Final (Sunday, 20th September)

At Pradniczanka stadium two other Polish team’s group matches (Poland vs Spain on 15th September and Poland vs Scotland on 16th September) will be played as well as Polish quater-final (on 18th September) if Polish team would qualified.

At Garbarnia venue on three amputee football pitches 40 remaining matches will be played.

Unlike FIFA/UEFA tournaments, during amputee football championship tournaments after end of group stage all teams play further. Those not qualifying to quater-finals compete for 9-16 places and losing teams in quater-final games compete for 5-8 places.

Despite current epidemic situation in Poland and the whole world we still strongly believe that European Amputee Football Championship Krakow 2020 will be held at its initial date 13-20 September 2020.

Let’s be together “One Step Closer to the Final” in September!
